Science is a process

Science is a framework for thinking. A process. Too often these days people refer to “science” as “the ultimate source of truth”. Picking one scientific study that proves their point and thinking “if scientists said so, it must be true”.

Actually science never finds The Truth, but rather - through this continuum of reasonings called “science” - humanity, as a whole, asymptotically approaches The Truth (while never really attaining it, unless given an infinity of time), by questioning every result and getting to new results that they again have to question.

Over a long enough period of time we can say that we know more about the world from a scientific perspective, although over shorter periods there are also variations to this asymptotic curve, moving it closer to or further from The Truth.
